The curriculum offered at JG College of Performing Arts is designed to equip students with the tools necessary to pursue careers in the areas of music, dance and drama. Integral to the mission, is the enrichment of the artistic life of students, the community, and region.

JGPA is dedicated towards the promotion of career oriented education for the populace, and brings the multifaceted media & entertainment industry under one roof. The infrastructure & media-skilled manpower available with the College has made it possible to offer its audience with in-house productions, facilities along with the training environment conducive for imparting practical education.

To meet the need of the hour, JG College of Performing Arts has designed the courses keeping in view the expectations and opportunities in today’s world.

The college would seek to give the students the basic competence in the respective performing art with which in course of time the student can with dedication achieve proficiency comparable to national and international standards.

Vision

There was a keen interest in the field of Performing Arts whether it was dance, drama or music over the past many years. No doubt there are many institutes imparting training but none affiliated to the Gujarat University. The JG College of Performing Arts was designed to fill up this lacunae and thus formalizing, with a well thought out curriculum for formal education in the field of performing and visual arts.

Mission

In order to promote excellence in the field of Performing Arts and to create opportunities for informed teaching and learning. JG College of Performing Arts endeavors to provide such a platform for quality education in a manner that encourages professionalism as well as the individual’s desire to excel in their chosen idiom.

Courses Offered

The college offers a Three year bachelor degree course and a Two year Master degree course in Drama (Acting, Direction & Production),Dance (Kathak & Bharata Natyam) and Music (Hindustani vocal, Carnatic vocal, Tabla, Pakhawaj, Sitar and Mridangam) 

The three year intensive Bachelor degree course and thereafter two year intensive Master degree course includes both theory and practicals. Classes are from Monday to Saturday. The student is taught right from the basics. In a span of five years the student learns in detail every aspect of the respective stream they choose to pursue, enhancing them to have a strong base by the time they finish the course.
